Interviews
Here are the next set of pictures.
Here are two more views of the first interactive session, when we were introducing ourselves. The next session was a more serious one where we were briefed on a number of things.
One of the first things we saw on the second trip there was this: The van that AJC raised money for in 2002. It is sad that many AJCians do not know about this van, but we hope to change that, through the exhibition about AWWA and SPARKZ, during the concert period.
One of the purposes of this visit was to brief SPARKZ members about the concert, and about Indonesian culture. This picture shows Kendrick, one of the SL leaders, briefing us and SPARKZ members. This can be noted as the start to the painting in of details, for this project.
This will probably be the last of the post for pictures taken before the arrival of the YBL group. Thanks for reading.

Computer screen showing draft of flyers to be posted around AJC, while reflecting members of AJClass16/06 discussing about publicity of project.
The Publicity committee carried out a mini fund raising activity on the 5th of March to raise fund for the upcoming Melodies from the Heart concert which will be held in AJ auditorium. A box was placed in the staffroom for the teachers to donate.
Efforts were also made to rope in the student population to contribute. An entertaining little skit was put up during the recent morning assembly to publicise the sale of the CDs comprising of songs sang by AWWA members and also a bonus track from visually-impaired Project Superstar winner, Kelvin Tan Wei Lian. In the skit, a boy irritated his friend by singing Wei Lian's rendition of the song Zou Chu Hei An De Shi Jie Ba Peng You (or Walk out of Darkness in English) in a way that Wei Lian himself will not approve of. In the end, his friend asked him to purchase the Candle of the Soul CD and polish up his singing skill. There was also an earnest appeal for AJcians to show their support for AWWA members by doing likewise.
Hopefully, we'll see an outpouring of generosity in the days to come.

We have finally gotten the media releases to publish the pictures of our First meeting with SPARKZ members. This pictures shows a wing of the place we call 'AWWA HQ', the site of all our sessions with SPARKZ so far.
I feel this is one of the pictures that really shows what this project is about. It is about a group of AJCians, putting in their all to make this world a better place. The people we collaborate with may not be confident of our abilities, or of the purposes behind what we ask them to do. But we promise this to those we work with: we will put in whatever effort necessary for the success of this project, if you will too.
Here is one of the few pictures taken of us interacting and chatting with the members of SPARKZ. Most of us were so intent in our conversations with such friendly hosts, that we forgot we were holding cameras.
The last picture for this post. This was taken during the breath-taking performance by SPARKZ's vocalists. It was then that we first started to see what the concert will be like. That picture of the successful concert, has changed much over these past weeks, with more details added. The picture however is still very much the same, as with our goal: to make this world a better place.

Two students for AJClass26/06 announcing to the school about this event, from the grandstand.
Kudos to the two who enthusiastically publicized the concert, during morning assembly.
This post marks the beginning of Term 1 Week 10, the week before the training sessions and concert in AJC. Over the past weeks, small details have been taking shape: the actual sequence of events on those days, the division of the members of the two classes into three major committees, the finalizing of the rooms to be used. All these details, when considered separately, are minor and not worth blogging about. Now, however, these details are like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, coming together to show what this project will be like.
In this coming week, this blog, in lieu of the intensifying work by the sub-committees,will be updating alot more. Firstly, we will be finally posting up some of the pictures taken earlier during the interactive sessions, to show how far this project has come. Also, expect an interview with one of the 6 SL leaders about this project. Lastly, the bloggers have promised one post this week: hear about their views from the viewpoints of the different committees.
This is the final week of preparations: here we go.
